We all have that one person that we struggle to buy gifts for. Usually it is someone that we are not that close to, as in immediate family. Or it could be because they seem to have everything they need in their life. I know I have at least a couple of people on my list that I actually dread buying gifts for. I want to get them something thoughtful and appropriate but I just don’t know where to start looking. I usually end up walking round town for hours and end up buying some last minute gift that I am unhappy with. I vow that next year will be different and of course it never is.
Last year I actually bought a hamper for a friend who was recovering from a hospital stay. I was aware she had received many flowers and didn’t want to add to this. So I looked at hampers, specifically food hampers. Her illness didn’t stop her from eating and so I knew that this gift would be very well received. Not to mention saving me lots of trauma walking round hundreds of shops looking for something appropriate. What a great idea it was, if I say so myself ! Yes, there are times I actually can come up with a good idea !
So when the lovely people at Prestige Hampers asked me if I could review one of their hampers I quickly said yes, as I am already a fan of this great gift idea.
The hamper arrived very well packaged and securely packed with all the contents intact and free from damage which is always a good start. The hamper itself consisted of a wooden sturdy box with a lid which was attractive in itself and was re usuable. Great news for those of us that like to recycle. In fact the box was so attractive and sturdy, I thought it would make a lovely magazine holder. Although since I have emptied it my cat seems to think it would make rather a nice bed !
The contents of the box were nestled in shredded brown paper which added to the rustic style of the hamper and gave the hamper a real luxury feel. I can imagine any recipient of this gift would feel as excited as I did opening it. It really did feel like Christmas, although these hampers really are for any occasion.
The contents of my hamper were as follows :
Walkers Highland Oatcakes 280g
Louis Filipe Cabernet Sauvignon 37.5cl
Shortbread House Dark Chocolate & Orange 150g
Mr Filberts Marinated Olives 65g
Eton Mess Chocolate by Valley Chocolate 100g
Santa Sack filled with Choc Chip & Orange Biscuits 125g
New English Tea Selection 20 Tea Bags
Yumcious Chocolate Bar of Awesomeness 100g
Little Box of Happy Mini Chocolate Marshmallows 100g
I am trying to save some of the contents for Christmas when all the family come round but I am failing miserably. I just love the variety of my box as sometimes I am in a sweet mood and sometimes a savoury mood. ! ( If you understand what I mean ?) The value of my box to buy online was £49.99 plus postage, which I think gives great value for money. And most importantly think of the time it saves that you would spending trawling round the shops looking for that elusive gift.
Having a look round their easy to navigate website, it is clear that Prestige Hampers have carefully thought out each hamper. From Wine Hampers to Fruit Hampers to my all time favourite the Pet Hampers. There really is something for everyone, even that spoilt dog that lives next door ! The hampers seem to contain high quality, artisan goods that give a real luxury feel to each one. I guess the appearance of the hamper is very important to us as giver and to the receiver. That luxury feel to a gift just adds to the whole experience.
So if you have that awkward uncle to buy for, or that friend of yours that really does have everything, why not have a little look at Prestige Hampers. I think you will be amazed at the variety they offer and the competitive prices. Best of all, think how much stress you are saving yourself !
Have you ever sent a hamper before ? And what were your reasons for sending a hamper ? Have you received a hamper recently ? Was it all you expected ?
Until next time dear friends. I must go and finish the bar of white chocolate I have just started !
The hamper was kindly sent to me from the lovely people at Prestige Hampers but my views and opinions of the product are my own.
