My Favourite Beauty Products for March

OK, I own up ! I’m addicted to trying new beauty products, especially the ones that give me hope of looking ten years younger ! I obviously don’t believe all their hype straight away, but I am more than willing to give them a try ( and the benefit of the doubt )

There is something rather relaxing about trying out new beauty products in the comfort of your own home. I love going to a spa and been pampered but after relaxing in a hot bath, there is nothing nicer than opening a new jar of cream and applying it in anticipation of looking at least healthier and brighter.

And so, I thought it would be interesting to share with you my beauty favourites at the moment. Personally I love reading reviews online as I tend to believe these reviews rather than the TV adverts that we see. It’s always useful to hear what the ordinary woman on the street thinks to the wonder face cream that promises so much. I hope you enjoy my little reviews of my favourite beauty products this month. I will, as always give you my honest opinion not influenced by anyone else.

First up is this gorgeous soap from Heyland & Whittle. As it was Mother’s Day yesterday here in the UK, I thought I should include this. Heyland & Whittle are a British company specialising in quality handmade soaps and home fragrances using only the best natural fragrances.

Essential oils, herbs and spices are used in the blends and best of all there are no added chemicals in the products making them as natural as possible.  This soap was specially made for Mother’s Day and is a luxurious rose soap enriched with cocoa butter, coconut oil and olive oil.

The soap is so rich and creamy and leaves my skin feeling so soft and with a hint of rose fragrance. I have only used a small amount of the soap but I would guess that this soap weighing 95g will last quite a long time as a little seems to go a long way. They have such a wide range of products on their website, it really is worth having a look for a gift or just to treat yourself. http://www.heylandandwhittle.co.uk

One of all time favourite products ever is rose water spray. I honestly cannot live without this ! Its refreshing, toning and makes me feel just so relaxed. Rose oil is known as the woman’s oil as it is supposed to help regulate hormones, whether you are pre menstrual or in the throes of the menopause. I love this rose water spray by   It is so soothing on my skin and refreshing and it smells divine. It is especially lovely during the summer months when you are feeling a little hot. I use it during the dreaded hot flushes of menopause and find it cools my skin. This is my favourite rose water Melvita Damask Rose Floral Water 50ml

My next beauty product that I’m loving is this make up remover by Ren. Ren is a fabulous company and I have used their products many times. They only use 100% plant and mineral active ingredients and their products are free from synthetics.

This make up remover is so gentle which is good as I bought it specifically to remove eye make up. I have used so many eye make removers that end up irritating my eyes and making them sting, so I was keen to find one that suited me and didn’t put me through torture every time I applied it. It’s easy to use too. Simply put a small amount on a cotton pad and sweep across closed eyes. I really love this product as it is very gentle and it works. It even takes off waterproof mascara which is a bonus as I wear this when I am at the gym or swimming. I only use a small amount per eye and this bottle contains 150ml so it will last for months !  http://www.renskincare.com

My next beauty product is one of my favourites ! I cannot say enough good things about this. It has really made such a positive difference to my skin.

This product is called Glow Tonic and it is by a company called Pixi who create wonderful skincare infused with botanicals with the aim of creating a natural radiant look by any woman that uses them. This Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner that aims to even out skin tone for a brighter, clearer complexion. By removing dead skin cells on the face, the skin should then look healthier, fresher and glowing.

In my opinion it really does work. I have been using this product for a few weeks now and my skin is looking so much better. This product does contain alpha hydroxy acid ( AHA ) which may increase a person’s sensitivity to the sun. Care should therefore be taken when going out in the sun after using by applying a facial sunscreen.  http://www.pixibeauty.co.uk

Ladies of a certain age ( oh yes, that would be me !) are always on the look out for face creams that help stall the signs of ageing. While we are advised to embrace ageing, most of us honestly do not like it and would do anything ( practically anything ) to minimise those wrinkles and lines that seem to appear almost daily.  I have been using Elemis products for many years as I really love them but last month I came across two of their premium products that had fabulous reviews especially for ageing skin.

The first product is the Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. This is a day cream, but to be honest the cream is quite rich and so I personally think it would be suitable as a night cream too.  I can report that this cream actually has improved the look and texture of my skin. While I still have fine lines and the odd wrinkle ( or two or three ) they don’t seem to be as obvious. This cream is expensive but a little goes a long way and if it works then it is worth the extra money. A little tip here. I often get my Elemis products from the shopping channel, QVC. I find they have great offers on and often have great value sets which offer value for money. http://www.elemis.co.uk  http://www.qvcuk.com

The second Elemis product are the Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules. These are individual capsules containing rose and lavender which are designed to help improve the signs of ageing and to replenish moisture which is lost due to the effects of everyday pollution. The advice is to use the rose capsule in the morning and the lavender capsule at night. I have been using just one capsule at night alternating between the rose and the lavender and using the marine cream in the morning. I absolutely love these capsules and they make my skin feel so soft and hydrated. Again these are expensive but by using just one a day you can still get the benefit of them.

So that concludes my thoughts on my favourite beauty products for this month. Have you used any of the products mentioned ? Have you any recommendations for me that I might like to try. I am always on the look out for that ‘miracle’ product that makes me look ten years younger overnight ! OK, I am joking but seriously it’s good to try new products especially when recommended by others.  Please leave any comments below as I love to hear from you and your thoughts.

Until next time dear friends.

Much love

Hi Anna. I do find that QVC have some great offers on beauty items and especially Elemis. I love the texture too of the marine cream and I find that I don’t need too much so it will probably last a long time. I would definitely buy it again. Susanna xx
